Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information connected with a visit, why it may be used, and the limited situations in which another service may receive it. By using the site, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not retain a separate log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We may keep a message sent directly to us for as long as needed to respond and maintain the conversation. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

Routine server and analytics records may capture these technical details when a page loads:

  • Page-view times and the pages viewed
  • Browser type and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • The device's assigned IP address
  • Visit duration and navigation activity
  • A referring website, when supplied

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, popular pages, and navigation exits. Analytics providers may combine visits into aggregate reports. A browser can reject or remove cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected outside provider
  • Operate, secure, and improve site performance
  • Diagnose errors and other technical problems
  • Measure which resources visitors use
  • Support advertising that may reflect browsing interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The content identifies official Pacific County and Washington channels, including courts, the sheriff, Jail Services, the Washington State Patrol, and the Washington State Sex Offender Public Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and we are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies supply the search tools. Their privacy policies govern submitted queries, retention, and disclosure, and those practices are outside our control. Review the selected provider's terms before using its form.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Pacific County offices, Washington agencies, courts, legal resources, and private search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy practices apply. Check them before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate those tracking systems.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • The search provider selected by a visitor
  • Advertising networks serving page ads
  • A public authority acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security measures protect the limited data we handle. No internet transmission or storage method is entirely secure, so absolute protection cannot be guaranteed.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A verified minor's information will be removed when its presence is brought to our attention.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Washington's Consumer Protection Act, chapter 19.86 RCW, and other privacy laws may affect particular practices. The Washington Public Records Act governs government records, not private visitor data, while RCW 10.97.050 governs public criminal-history dissemination. Subject to the law, you may:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Seek deletion where the law permits it
  • Object to eligible forms of processing

Updates to This Policy

A revised policy will be posted here and identified by a new effective date. Continued use after publication is subject to the updated policy.
